Our Favorite Subscription Box Trends

What do make-up, dog treats, craft supplies and yoga gear all have in common? Each one can be shipped straight to your doorstep on an ongoing basis through a subscription box! Over the past few years, subscription boxes have taken off in popularity, and what started as an opportunity to sample make-up and other goodies has turned into a booming industry.

While some are better known than others, there are hundreds of subscription boxes to suit anyone’s interests. Check out a few of our favorites.

Bula Box

For fitness-inclined individuals, there’s Bulu Box. Delivering a sampling of nutritional products each month for just $10, Bulu Box gives health and fitness enthusiasts a chance to try four to five sample products, including vitamins, sports nutrition supplements, healthy snacks, accessories and sleep aids before investing in the full size versions. Box buyers can choose between the Bulu Box Original and Weight Loss, and then decide how often they’d like to receive it (month-to-month is available). Lastly, a personal preference survey is presented to ensure consumers receive custom-designed boxes each month. Can you say, count me in?

Birchbox

If you’re looking to try the latest and greatest beauty, grooming and lifestyle products, Birchbox is the go-to. The service delivers personalized samples, tailored to your needs and wants based on a survey, right to your door. Each month you’ll receive five samples in various sizes with a card detailing what each product is and tips for how to use them. The website offers more in-depth info, including video tutorials and tips from experts.

At $10 a month, men and women get access to luxury and household name brands, and up-and-coming lines without paying a hefty price upfront. Full-sized versions are available for purchase on the website and the service offers a pretty generous rewards program. A bonus? As one of the original box subscriptions, Birchbox has customer service down pat. If you ever have a challenge or complaint, the team is quick to respond and remedy the situation.

GlobeIn

If you love to travel but find yourself strapped for time and money like the rest of us, GlobeIn, The Monthly Artisan Gift Box may fill the void. This "living atlas of handmade crafts" delivers a themed collection of artisan-made products from around the world and delivers it to you for as low as $30 per month. What makes this monthly subscription truly remarkable is the philosophy behind it. GlobeIn sees itself more as a movement to connect millions of people in remote areas of the world who are producing handmade goods with buyers all over the globe. Every product included in GlobeIn's gift boxes includes a story about the person who created it and shows how this initiative has helped to significantly improve their living conditions.

With GlobeIn, not only do you find a piece of joy that can only be found from traveling, you can feel good about supporting a great cause.

Mistobox

Mistobox is on a mission to “discover the world’s best coffee.” The company started as a school project at the University of Arizona and has grown considerably in recent years to thousands of customers. Subscribers start by submitting their taste preferences in a quick poll, and once or twice a month they receive coffee blends that have been sampled and approved by Mistobox’s team. The company was even featured on the ABC TV show “Shark Tank,” where it received $75,000 to take their subscription service to the next level.

Since then, the Mistobox team has moved to San Francisco and evolved the company to now deliver to offices and offer personalized subscriptions. For a team of coffee addicts, this is one we are anxious to try for ourselves! These are just a four of hundreds of subscription box services available, but if you have a hobby, and interest, or even a sweet tooth, there is a subscription service for you. Do some digging and tell us about some of your faves.
